December to April brings the year's most stable weather and the city runs at capacity: room blocks should be closed nine to twelve months out. July and August are warm and humid but allow well-resolved afternoon events with shade and airflow. Formal hurricane season runs June to November, with September the statistically riskiest month.

Civil weddings are registered with the Benito Juárez Civil Registry. Beach events outside a hotel require a ZOFEMAT permit, and amplified music past certain hours requires municipal authorisation.
